Martin Tadlock

Brief Biography of Dr. Tadlock:
Dr. Martin Tadlock is currently Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement is comprised of three units: Adult Non-Traditional Student Resource Office, Continuing Education/Extension, and the Center for New Learning. He began his duties in August, 2007.
Dr. Tadlock was Graduate Dean and Dean of the College of Professional Studies at California State University, Monterey Bay prior to coming to UW-Oshkosh. He was responsible for providing leadership to a diverse college housing the School of Business, the School of Education, and the Departments of: Health, Human Services, and Public Policy; Liberal Studies; Teacher Education; and Human Performance and Wellness Education. He also served as that university’s first graduate dean.
Prior to that, Dr. Tadlock served for five years as Dean of the College of Professional Studies and School of Graduate Studies at Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota, responsible for the largest college on campus and all graduate programs.
Dr. Tadlock was Associate Dean for Extension in the College of Education at Utah State University and a faculty member in the Department of Elementary Education for eight years, where he coordinated the middle level education endorsement program, advised the Utah Middle Level Student Association, and taught middle level and secondary teacher preparation and graduate course work.
Dr. Tadlock began his university career as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville as Director of the Center of Education for the Young Adolescent, a designated Center of Excellence within the Wisconsin State University System. He taught middle school for seven years and served as assistant principal in a 7-12 junior/senior high school.
His Ph.D. is in Educational Administration and Leadership from Miami University of Ohio.
Dr. Tadlock has written numerous funding proposals totaling over $13 million in funded projects, published over 100 articles in professional and trade journals and a book for the National Middle School Association. He has participated as an invited presenter/speaker for state, regional, and national conferences.
