Welcome from the Provost

The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is the principal administrative center for academic affairs on campus. As UW Oshkosh’s chief academic officer, the Provost is responsible for the supervision of all colleges, faculty, instructional academic staff and academic programs at the university. The Provost reports directly to the Chancellor and serves as the campus representative in the Chancellor’s absence. Other positions in the office include the Associate Vice chancellor for Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Curricular Affairs and Student Academic Achievement.

The office is actively involved in strategic planning on campus and has been the chief architect of the Academic Program Plan and its annual updates. It also plays a vital role in the ten-year re-accreditation process of the university administered by the Higher Learning Commission.

The office directs a number of national and UW System academic initiatives, including: the Liberal Education and America’s Promise [LEAP]; Inclusive Excellence; Give Students a Compass; the Wisconsin Transfer Equity Study, the Campus Climate Survey; and the Equity Scorecard. UW Oshkosh campus initiatives supported by the office include: the University Studies Program; the Titan Advantage Program; the American Democracy Project; the Emerging Scholars Program; and the Early Alert Program.
