Ordering & Shipping Procedures :
- 2007 prices: $60.00 per animal; includes shipping health certificate and shipping container; may combine 4 or more animals per container depending on socialization history and quantity ordered.
- Shipping costs are additional to the price of the animals. We will combine as many animals per container as is safe to do so.
- Ship date blackouts occur for weather, especially temperature extremes; we cannot be responsible for these types of delays.
- We require a current IACUC listing Spermophilus tridecemlineatus prior to any shipment. Note that IACUC permission is required if you wish to pick up the animals yourself instead of using a shipper.
- The buyer will be sent a waiver statement to sign prior to shipment.
- We subscribe to ILAR's 2006 publication, Guidelines for the Humane Transportation of Research Animals.
- Some institutions require the use of particular shippers. Some shippers refuse to carry squirrels. At this time, World Courier (which has a special live animal department that arranges door-to-door delivery) will ship our captive-bred animals but will not ship the wild ones.
- A care sheet will be included with your squirrels.
- SORRY, we cannot ship outside the United States at this time.
- SORRY, we cannot ship animals that are torpid (hibernating) as there is no safety history for this practice. However we occasionally have animals that are euthermic (aroused) during winter months.
