Promising Strategies for Supporting Women's Success in Science

Keynote Speakers:
Bernice Durand, Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Climate, Professor of Physics, University of Wisconsin Madison
Louise Root-Robbins, Coordinator, UW System Women's Issues

Drs. Durand and Root-Robbins are co-directors of the UW System Sloan Project for Academic Career Advancement. Dr. Durand is also on the Leadership Team of the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute (WISELI) for the Madison campus. They will begin with a brief overview of the status of women in STEM areas of study and scholarship. Additionally, they will describe several initiatives currently being implemented (in the UW System) that have potential to create sustainable change for the purpose of supporting the recruitment, retention and success of women in science.
