Our Mission:

Providing Unique Challenges to Highly Qualified and Motivated Students.

Honors Courses

Classes designed exclusively for students of outstanding academic ability are the core of the University Honors Program at UW Oshkosh. In Honors courses, students work closely with instructors and with each other, and whenever possible, independent research is encouraged. Honors classes are small, allowing stimulating exchanges between professors and students and coverage of material in greater depth.

The enhanced undergraduate curriculum emphasizes reading, writing, and interactive communication skills through discussions and projects. Honors courses also allow students to engage in learning and research in close cooperation with other high-achieving students.

HONORS CORE COURSES & HONORS ELECTIVES

A minimum number of Honors credits is required to complete the University Honors Program curriculum. They consist of the Honors Core and Honors Electives.

HONORS CORE
All Honors students are required to complete the Honors Core, which includes these three courses:

HONORS ELECTIVES
These Honors courses are designed to also fulfill General Education requirements (please see the links in top left box of this column for course offerings). Depending on when students begin the UHP curriculum, Honors electives are to be completed accordingly:

Those who join the UHP as Freshmen complete the Honors Core + Four Electives for a total of a 21 or more credits.

Those  who join the UHP as Sophomores complete the Honors Core + Three Electives for a total of 18 or more credits.

Those who join the UHP as Transfer students with more than 45 credits complete the Honors Core + One Elective for a total of 12 or more credits.

Please see Required Courses for more information.

The UHP is always working on developing new courses at all levels of the curriculum.
