| On July 22 the doors opened for
a new Family Literacy program. Greater Oshkosh Even Start (GOES)
is a familycentered program, which embraces the whole family as
"the student". It provides participating families with
an integrated program of early childhood education, adult education,
and basic skills instruction, parenting education, and interactive
literacy activities between parents and their children. All projects
have some home-based instruction and provide for the joint participation
of parents and children
GOES is a state administered discretionary program. The purpose
of family literacy is to:

into the instructional programs for adults and children |

Help children and adults to meet the
state's challenging content standards |
