Will CAPP credits transfer to my chosen college or university?

College transfer credits can be accepted several ways:

  1. Credit hours can be directly transferred toward your chosen degree
  2. They can be accepted as elective credits
  3. They can exempt you from taking a required course, or they can make you eligible for placement into a higher level of course sequence.

The University of Wisconsin System campuses must accept UW Oshkosh credits and post them to the student's permanent record, although, ALL POSTED COURSES MAY NOT MEET SPECIFIC MAJOR AND DEGREE REQUIREMENTS. It is at the discretion of private colleges and universities and those not in the UW System as to whether they will accept transfer credits from any other college or university in the country.

Before enrolling in a CAPP course, ask your CAPP teacher or guidance counselor which institutions have accepted CAPP credits in the past. It is strongly recommended that the student check with the college or university of his/her choice for acceptance of CAPP transfer credits before registering for a CAPP course. When visiting your future campus, be prepared with a course portfolio and syllabus to present to college officials who might need more detailed information before accepting CAPP credit.
