Here is the recently-built Trinity Bridge designed by my favorite contemporary architect, Santiago
Calatrava. It is reserved for pedestrians. Also, this area of the city is very expensive to live in.

Here is a picture of me in front of the bridge. I shaved my beard because my roomate told me I should so
as not to wierd out my students, and people don't generally wear beards in England. It was strange at first,
but I like not having it. (Though I don't enjoy shaving every day.) I think I look younger and my students
say I look better without it. I have also cut my hair shorter. Grandma should be happy about that.

Here are the markets in Manchester city centre which, like Oshkosh and Madison's, takes place on
Saturday mornings into the early afternoon. Behind the markets are gardens and a fountain. The city
centre actually feels very local and small, considering it is a city of considerable size. Manchester avoids
the crazy hustle and bustle that London can't seem to live without, which is actually held with an amount
of pride here in the Northwest of the country.

Here is just one example of many of the contemporary architecture in and around Manchester. For as
many older buildings that one would expect to see in England, there are just as many new buildings. New
apartment buildings and business offices are going up daily.
