The Pride of Oshkosh - Absentee Bid Guidelines The Pride of Oshkosh will collect absentee bids up to 3:00 pm the day before each live auction, as follows: The Mane Event Saturday, September 25, 7:00 p.m. The Lion Ball Saturday, October 16, 6:00 p.m. To submit an absentee bid, you must call (920) 235-6903 ext. 25 to request a form or download the Absentee Bid Form from this website. This must be completed and returned by the deadlines given above. Once you complete and return an Absentee Bid Form you may not cancel the bid. The form is considered a binding contract. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to carefully consider your bid before completing the form. Absentee bids must be confirmed with a credit card. If you are the highest absentee bid on a lion, your credit card will be charged $100 on the day of the auction to secure your absentee bid. If you do not win the auction, this amount will be refunded. If you win the auction, your credit card will be charged the full amount of the balance. By submitting an absentee bid, you accept The Pride of Oshkosh Auction Rules and Conditions of Sale. This is how the absentee bids will work: Once you decide on a Lion on which you want to bid, complete an Absentee Bid Form to participate in that auction. You must complete a separate form for each lion. On the form you must list the maximum amount you are willing to pay for that lion - that is your absentee bid. Your maximum absentee bid will be kept secret from other bidders. Before the auction starts, we will review all the absentee bids and calculate what the winning absentee bid is. The winning absentee bid equals the second highest bid plus $100. This value will be communicated to the auctioneer. Here is an example: Rob places an absentee bid of $3,000 for Lion #12.
When the live auction starts, we will let the auctioneer know that there is an absentee bid for $3,600. If there are no higher bids during the auction, Ben is the winner. However, if floor bidders place a bid above $3,600, we will bid on Ben's behalf up to his maximum of $4,000. We will not bid above the maximum amount. There is the possibility of a tie. Here is an example: Bob places an absentee bid of $3,300.
The auctioneer is in full control of which bids are accepted and when. If there is a tie between a floor bid and absentee bid, the auctioneer decides the winner. Make sure the absentee bid you place is the maximum amount you're willing to pay because we cannot bid above that amount - even in Bob's case.
