The Wisconsin Resource Center is a State of Wisconsin mental health facility contracted with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to manage and treat mentally ill and behaviorally disordered male and female inmates. The target population includes individuals diagnosed with chronic and major mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder, as well as severe personality disorders. These individuals may be experiencing self-injurious or suicidal, assaultive, disorganized, or defiant behavior. The goal is to prepare for release back to the community or return to a more traditional correctional setting.
An understanding of the treatment of offenders is helpful but not required.
