Community/Clinical Mental Health

Uphold all ethical standards, one to one counseling, developing and/or offering a group (determined by student level of interest and availability), facilitating/co-facilitating groups presently offered, complete security in-service training, weekly site supervision, periodically providing audio recording of counseling sessions, weekly providing case notes on each client

Culturally a diverse population, ages 16-90, both lockup and work release status, male and female, with diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health issues

A basic knowledge of counseling theory and preparation for Practicum or Internship Experience will be necessary for this site. Experience within a correctional facility is helpful but not necessary

1 Semester, 2 Semester


Shifts Required: We are available throughout the week and can be reached by phone or email. Students are required to attend supervision from 1pm - 3pm every Friday. Group work is offered during the days Monday through Friday. Client one-to-one sessions are offered evenings and weekends There is no cycle or deadline for application. After initial contact, there is an interview, request for letters of reference, background check, fingerprinting , and an orientation
