Work with an adult population with various presenting problems including: relationship issues, depression, eating disorders, substance abuse problems, stress and time management issues, sexual assault, test anxiety; Deliver outreach and prevention programs for residence halls, classes fraternities/sororities (some may take place outside of normal working hours); Provide career counseling which incorporates various assessment instruments and computer resources; Co-facilitate a counseling, psycho-educational, or therapy group; Learn diagnosis utilizing the DSM IV; Gain experience in crisis intervention; Get training in the maintenance of clear, accurate and confidential student records; Receive at least two hours of one-on-one supervision a week; Work with a staff with diverse training and specialties; Further develop your counseling skills in an environment that balances challenge and support and is committed to your development.
Primarily adults 18-24, but adults of all ages will be seen.
Completed or enrolled in the Career course. A desire to work in a college setting is a plus.
