Exploring Science Technology & Engineering Education Majors (ESTEEM)
June 17–29, 2018
Grades 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
The ESTEEM program will provide hands-on laboratory experiences in a university setting to engage students and increase their interest in the science, technology, math and engineering fields. Students will have access to the same state-of-the-art facilities and equipment UW Oshkosh students and faculty use.
The following summer courses will be offered in the 2017 ESTEEM Program: Introduction to Engineering (Robotics), Research and Project Design in Robotics, Water Beach Biology (Microbiology), CSI: Chemistry, Mathematics, Science, Grammar/Writing and Speech Communication. Workshops in financial aid and admissions college preparatory and exploring career options will be offered this summer.
ESTEEM students also participate in educational, cultural and recreational activities both on- and off-campus such as leadership training (e.g., zip-lining and ropes), roller-skating, basketball, swimming, volleyball and cultural and educational workshops.
In collaboration with the UW Oshkosh Science Outreach Office, the 2016 summer programs participants are invited back for a spring campus visit in 2018 to further support and encourage students to pursue a post-secondary education.
