Wisconsin Youth in Nursing Program (WYN)

The WYN Program provides academic and professional development courses and activities to help students prepare for college nursing careers and other health related fields of study by gaining hands-on experience in the state-of-the-art laboratories used by UW Oshkosh nursing students.
The following summer courses will be offered in the 2017 two-week WYN Program (Subject to change): Writing for Nurses, Mathematics, Public Health (i.e., community health, epidemiology, behavioral health, public policy & etc.) Health Assessment Lab, Nursing and Health Care Professions, Environmental Health, Visiting Nurses, Social Work: Oncology, Obstetric Nursing (Simulations Lab/Birthing), Men in Nursing and Medical Technology. Workshops in financial aid and admissions college preparatory and exploring career options will also be offered this summer.
In collaboration with the UW Oshkosh College of Nursing, WYN students participate in a field trip to a local hospital with behind the scenes exposure. WYN students also participate in recreational activities such as bowling, roller-skating, basketball, swimming and volleyball.
The UW Oshkosh College of Nursing, invites the 2016 summer programs participants back for a spring campus visit in 2017 to further support and encourage students to pursue a post-secondary education.
