Summer Mathematics and Reading Talent Scholars Program (SMARTS)
June 21- July 3, 2014
Grade 7
The UW Oshkosh SMARTS Program provides instruction and other activities to help students improve their skills in mathematics and reading.
The following courses will be offered in the 2014 SMARTS Program: Mathematics, Reading, Esteem Building, Study Skills and Multicultural Awareness. Workshops in financial aid, Admissions College preparatory and exploring career options will be offered this summer. SMARTS students also participate in recreational activities such as bowling, roller-skating, basketball, swimming, volleyball, team leadership building, as well as a motivational workshop.
During the 2014-2015 school year, tutoring in mathematics and reading and access to computer laboratories are available to SMARTS students after school and on Saturdays through the QUEST Project at UW-Milwaukee. Orientation meetings and workshops also are scheduled at UW-Milwaukee throughout the school year for parents, teachers and students.
