Aspiring Pupils for Professional Leadership in Education Program (APPLE)

June 21 - July 3, 2014
Grades 10, 11, 12

The APPLE program provides academic and professional development courses and activities to help students prepare for teaching majors in college.

The following summer courses will be offered in the 2014 APPLE Program:  Speech Communication, Mathematics, Academic Reading and Writing, Special Education, Developing a Portfolio, Computer Technology for Teachers, Planning and Presenting a Lesson, Methods of Teaching, Current Trends and Issues in Education, Measuremnt and Evaluation in Education and a S.A.F.E. training workshop. Time management, note taking and study skills will be offered this summer in addtion to financial aid, Admissions college preparatory and exploring career options.

APPLE students also participate in recreational activities such as bowling, roller-skating, basketball, swimming and volleyball, as well as participate in a motivational workshop.

In collaboration with the UW Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), the 2014 summer programs participants are invited back for a spring campus visit in 2015 to further support and encourage students to pursue a postsecondary education.
