Residence Life
The main homepage to represent the Department of Residence Life
The Department of Residence Life website encompasses a lot of organizations within the university. The main objective of the site is to entice students to live on campus and support those who do live in the dorms. It contains helpful information for potential and current students/parents. The website also broadcasts information about the department, the people who run it, and the things we do.
Main areas of the site include:
Information for potential/incoming students
Information for current residents
Information about computer resources available for residents (MIO)
Information about leadership opportunities
Information about the NBC village
Residence Life policy
Employment opportunities and job applications
Information about the Department and links to internal websites

The new version of the housing website has been released. Improvements include some tweaking to the style of the site, the addition of dropdown menus, and restructuring some of the data. There are also many improvements to Plone 3 that we are looking forward to using.
During the upgrade process we ran into a few hitches because our server is not currently setup with a buildout config. We were eventually able to dissolve the issue and install the products that normally require this feature. There were also complications with the dropdown menu product which we eventually overcame. All in all the upgrade process was relativly seemless. We had to lock the site from changes for about a week, but the website was never offline.
