Seems things are heating up on campus in terms of Plone job opportunities for students!

Plone Programmer (Administrative Computing)

We (Administrative Computing) are looking to hire a student intern to do Plone coding.  It would be a mix of workflow app development (custom content types and custom workflows) and generic product development to support the campus-wide Plone rollout.  The ideal person would not graduate until 2011.  Skills the ideal person would have include:

  • Python
  • Unix/Linux
  • object oriented programming
  • HTTP, XML
  • ability to be self-directed and goal-oriented, a self-starter

Plone Support/Consultant (Administrative Computing)

In addition to that one coding intern, we now have STEP funds to pay for another student who would do a combination of Plone support and "consulting" (working with units who have Plone sites and showing them how to get more out of their site by suggesting different products, forms, and maybe workflow apps).  

Skills the ideal person would have include:

  • proficiency with web standards (HTML, SSL, etc.) and online tools
  • patience in dealing with end users
  • ability to be self-directed and goal-oriented, a self-starter

Plone Consultant/Programmer (Center for Scholarly Teaching) 

The Center for Scholarly Teaching is looking for a student who can cover the range of Plone consulting down to workflow app development.
