How to unlock a page

Normal edit locks and WebDAV locks

Edit Locks

Normal "Edit" locks, as shown by a small yellow padlock icon on the page, can be easily removed by editing the page then pressing the cancel button.

WebDAV Locks

WebDAV locks are not the same as normal Edit locks, and they do not show up when you view the page.  You'll know a page has been WebDAV-locked if you don't see a padlock on the page but you get an error when you try to (say) delete the page.

Append to the page's URL "/wl_clearLocks" and hit Enter.  It may give you a message about a missing page but it cleared the lock for me when I tried it.

For example, if the page's URL is http://www.uwosh.edu/mysite/hello-world you would visit http://www.uwosh.edu/mysite/hello-world/wl_clearLocks
