How to hide metadata fieldset tabs in your content type add and edit forms

Novice users of your site may find the typical "Default", "Categorization", "Dates", "Ownership", and "Settings" fieldset tab/buttons confusing when they add a new content item or edit an existing item. Here is how to hide those buttons.

Let's say you have a custom content type called ProjectRequest.  You want users to have the simplest possible form for adding and editing that content type, so you want to hide the fieldset buttons that come with all Plone Archetypes by default.

To do that, you can use CSS:

/* hide the fieldset tabs in the edit view */

#projectrequest-base-edit ul.formTabs {
  display: none;
}

You can see an example of the above in our uwosh.registrarforms product.
