Creating a "Super User", "Site Owner", etc. Role

A tutorial to create a role that has more permissions that just a Member but less than a Manager.

1) Go to site root, click on the security tab, and add the role at the bottom. There is a text field and an "Add Role" button.

2) Give the appropriate permissions to this role including "Portlets:  Manage own portlets" and "Portlets: Manage Portlets". If you know what you are doing you can give more permissions as you see fit.

3) To disallow deletion of News and Events folders(Large Plone Folders)  go to portal_types/Large Plone Folder and click the security tab. On the "Delete objects" permission make sure you turn acquire permissions off and check Manager. This way only managers can delete LPFs.

4) Create a group. Name it something meaningful and give it the new role you just created as well as Member role.

5) Add the appropriate user to this group.
