Things to do or verify before a UW Oshkosh Plone site should go live
- clickable UW Oshkosh banner at the top
- clickable UW Oshkosh link in footer at the bottom
- search box at top right
- site map, accessibility, contact links at top right
- site's "From" email address is set to an account that will be read daily (Site Setup -> Mail)
- "Allow anyone to view 'about' information" box should be checked (Site Setup -> Security)
- "Expose sitemap.xml.gz in the portal root" should be checked (Site Setup -> Security)
- you have entered a Site Description, used by search engines (Site Setup -> Site Settings)
- optional: enable wiki markup for Page, Event, News Item types (Site Setup -> Markup)
- products installed:
- uwosh.theme(main|college)
- uwosh.simpleemergency
- uwosh.globalsearch
- Products.ImageEditor
- collective.plonetruegallery
- uwosh.default (includes installation of uwosh.* )
- uwosh.requirements (enforces uwosh plone site specifics)
- Google (see How to improve your site's Google page rank):
- URL of the site must be submitted to Google
- site's site map must be submitted to Google
- The Plone team must be sent an email containing:
- URL to the completed Project item describing the site (in http://www.uwosh.edu/ploneprojects/plone-projects)
- the email addresses of all users who are in the site's Administrators group, so they can be added to the plone-users@lists.uwosh.edu email list
- results of an accessibility report for the entire site showing that it passed all tests successfully
- Custom roles for sharing permissions, intranets, etc. must not be granted to individual logins but to groups only (use Site Setup -> Users and Groups)
- CSS debugging must be turned off (ZMI -> portal_css)
- CacheFu cacheing must be enabled (Site Setup -> Cache Configuration Tool)
