Who we are, what we do, what's on this site

Who We Are

Integrated Marketing and IT (Administrative Computing, Learning Technologies, and Academic Computing) jointly enable, support, and enhance the campus web presence.

Since 2004, we have been using the Plone web content management system to create sophisticated yet user friendly web sites.

Here is who is on the Plone team at UW Oshkosh.

What We Do

We have an ongoing project to migrate all 300+ campus web sites to Plone. As part of this effort, Integrated Marketing is improving the external marketability of our sites. For more on that effort, please see the official project page.

We have also begun the campus-wide Intranet project, which will be a central information resource for current faculty, staff, and students, and will serve as an electronic business processing framework.

We also continue to support the use of Plone for intranets, custom workflow applications, and sites for faculty, staff, students, programs, special events, and projects.

This Site

This site is focused on the technical aspects of Plone use at UW Oshkosh, and serves as a resource for Plone development.

We describe our goals in deploying Plone across campus, and it includes a list of all completed, current, and future Plone projects on our campus.

You will also find documentation, FAQs, and tutorials on how to use Plone to create web sites, intranets, and powerful web applications. You can subscribe to an RSS feed of "how to" documents.
