Philosophy Major Wins OSRCA Research Grant

Congratulations to Emma Link, Philosophy (and English) Major, who has been awarded an Office of Student Research & Creative Activity (OSRCA) Undergraduate Student/Faculty Collaborative Research Grant!

Collaborating with her faculty mentor, Dr. Larry Herzberg of the Philosophy Department, Emma will pursue her research over the summer of 2017. She plans to contribute to the literature on the harmful effects of drug assisted sexual assaults (DFSAs), especially when videos or photos of the DFSAs are published on social media. Emma will use psychological studies of the effects of the drugs used in DFSAs, as well as philosophical analyses of harm, personal identity, and autonomy, to critically evaluate (and perhaps add to) Cressida J. Heyes' mainly phenomenological analysis of what she takes to be the uniquely harmful effects of DFSAs.
