Faculty/Staff Permits

Employees may purchase either an employee permit (valid from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31) or a diamond permit.  The diamond permit is valid for multiple years with payroll deduction beginning automatically each fall.  The employee and diamond permits may be payroll deducted from pre-tax dollars (except for LTEs who are not eligible for pre-tax) at a cost of $200 per year or $110 per semester. Please refer to the map for faculty/staff lot locations.

Employee permits may be placed on a movable plastic hook (carpool permit) for an additional fee.  Diamond permits may not.

Employees choosing the diamond permit have the option to purchase additional diamond permits for $15 each per year. The additional diamond permits may be used on vehicles brought to campus on a temporary basis.  At no time are the primary diamond permit and any secondary diamond permit(s) allowed to be used on campus at the same time.  Failure to comply will result in a $30 ticket for each vehicle.

You must return your permit(s) to the Parking Services office to discontinue your payroll deduction for parking.

All commuter student and faculty/staff lots are closed from midnight until 6 a.m.*  Vehicles parked in commuter student and faculty/staff lots after midnight will be ticketed and towed.

*Lot 34 is open until 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday during each 14-week academic session.

Reserved Faculty/Staff Parking

A limited number of reserved spaces are available for faculty and staff in the parking ramp, in Lot 4/4a and in Lot 7. The annual cost is $375.  Contact Parking Services at (920) 424-4455 for details.  Reserved permits are valid only in the assigned lot or space up through 4 p.m. Parking in other faculty/staff lots is allowed after 4 p.m.

Evening Permits (4 p.m.-midnight)

Evening permits are available for $45 for two semesters or $25 for one semester.

Motorcycle Permits

Motorcycles/mopeds must be parked only in designated areas, not in regular car stalls.  These designated spaces are conveniently located in lots 6a, 7, 11, 13, 18, 23, 25, the South Gruenhagen area and the High Avenue parking ramp. These spaces are not available between Nov. 15 and April 15.  These permits cost $15 per year or $8 per semester.

Mopeds may be parked in approved bicycle racks for security purposes, but they still must properly display valid University motorcycle parking permits.  Mopeds may not be driven on sidewalks; walk mopeds to a bicycle rack.  Driving on a sidewalk is in violation of Wisconsin State Statute 346.94, and such a violation would result in a fine and points against your driver's license.

Summer Permits

Summer parking permits for faculty/staff, commuter or resident students are available for $30 for the eight-week session or $15 for four weeks. Full-year permits include the summer session at no additional cost.

Short-term Parking Permits

One-day permits and five-time cards (which allow the purchaser to park five times and have no expiration date) are available in the Parking Services office for $2 per day or $10 per five-time card. Permits are valid 6 a.m.–midnight.

Special Permits

Anyone who brings a car other than the one for which a regular permit has been issued must obtain a temporary parking permit for the day from the Parking Services office.

Permit placement

When parked on campus, carpool permits must be hung in he driver’s window so they are clearly visible to enforcement staff. The replacement cost for a lost permit is $40, plus an additional fee if a new carpool hook is requested.

Car pool placement

Window decals (non-carpool permits) should be placed on the outside of the rear driver’s side window. Affixing a decal by taping or clipping is not considered permanently or properly displayed.

Sedan decal

Parking permits are not transferable from one person to another or from one vehicle to another (except carpool permits). If an individual purchases a different vehicle, he/she must bring the old permit, or identifiable portion thereof, to the Parking Services office for replacement at no cost. Those requesting a replacement permit without returning the old permit will be charged $40, plus an additional fee if a carpool hook is requested.

Refunds

When you present an identifiable portion of the parking decal (needed for auditing purposes), Parking Services will refund a portion of the annual fee on a prorated basis, minus a $5 service charge.

Fees are subject to change.
