Homecoming 2007

The Brothers of Epsilon Beta celebrated the UW Oshkosh Homecoming this past weekend. The president's celebration was well attended by generations of delta sigs from the 60s, 70's, 80's, 90s and recent graduates.

We also celebrated the lives of those departed this year. We want to thank the 50+ alumni that attended the cookout, socials and formals. Also thank you to those that donated to the chapter housing fund, and chapter scholarship. Thanks to the Anderson family for the scholarship donation on behalf of Shane's memory. A list of attendees will be made available later.

(from Doug DeRosier)
I realize there's no good way to find out bad news like this. I made about 25 calls to brothers & friends yesterday. As our network of college friends spreads out further each year, it's harder to keep in touch with everyone. So I apologize if you find this medium as impersonal for news like this.

Many of you know that Shane had a difficult struggle ahead of him after his motorcycle accident the Fri. of Memorial Day weekend. He was headed from Milw. to party with friends near the WI Dells.

It was definitely a somber weekend at the cottage. Shane would've been the first one to raise a glass, so we tried to have fun in his honor.

In true Shaner style, he battled hard for two weeks against amazing odds. The doctors & staff at UW Hosp. did great work to give him the chance to fight.

I would think funeral arrangements will be in the WI State Journal on Mon. (wasn't posted today) or Madison.com

His sister Kotti was posting daily journals of his condition at Caringbridge.org (his page is listed under "theshaner"). Kotti didn't let on to how serious some of his injuries were. She wanted to keep the blogs positive.

Shane Anderson

Rest in peace our brother

January 15, 2007
Last week a handful of alumni from the the early 90s had the privilege to learn the complexities and challenges presented by the combination of iced water, old age, fishing gear and poor traction.

NOTE:
This webpage was first created in the summer of 1994 by Chuck Milam and Victor Alatorre at the SUN lab in UW Oshkosh. It was the first webpage ever created and published on this campus. Chuck Milam was a student UNIX administrator at that time and was playing around with a new web server daemon called "NCSA httpd," which eventually became the Apache web server. The rest is history... The webpage has grown and changed dramatically in the last 12 years. It is currently supported by Victor Alatorre. Alumni advisor of Delta Sigma Phi Epsilon Beta.
