Study Abroad Participant Handbook
It's so good to hear that you are interested in participating in a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh-sponsored study abroad program!
Follow ALL of the links in this handbook (in the menu on the left) to familiarize yourself with processes and policies related to study abroad. Students who read this informaion in advance find that they have a smooth and successful experience with the OIE. Students who do not read this information have a difficult time with the process.
To apply, complete the steps in the following checklist. If you have questions along the way, feel free to contact Office of International Education (OIE) staff.
- Read ALL information on the webpage of the study abroad program of your choice.
- Write family orientation and class dates for your program in your calendar.
- If you cannot attend, explain on the application form.
- Missing a session may make you ineligible for program participation.
- Read this handbook; do not apply until you have read this information thoroughly.
- Write all materials and fee deadlines in your calendar.
- If you are not the person who will be making payments, share this information with the person who will be.
- Follow the application procedure on the webpage of your program of choice.
- All programs require forms and/or documentation in addition to what is provided in this application packet.
- Apply for a passport.
