What Can the Office of International Education Do for You?

Study Abroad

UW Oshkosh offers over 50 faculty-led and student exchange programs for you to choose from! Learn about the IMPACT study abroad has had on other UW Oshkosh students. To find a program that works for you, attend one of our regular Explore! meetings or check out our destinations. For information on applying through the OIE to study abroad and to use Financial Aid for study abroad, attend an information meeting.

The OIE provides individual advising by appointment, student/family orientations, group advising for students participating on non-UW Oshkosh-sponsored programs, web resources for trip preparation, scholarship information, access to an international listserv announcing upcoming programs, events, job opportunities and scholarships, and a Facebook page for past participants/future participants to stay in touch and get in touch.

National Student Exchange

The OIE is responsible for advising for the National Student Exchange (NSE), a program which allows a student to attend one or two of over 170 universities and colleges in the U.S. and Canada for a semester or year.

International Student Services

The primary mission is to assist international students in successfully completing their educational goals. In addition, the International Student Advisor provides support to the UW Oshkosh campus and the local community in the area of international education.

Services and resources available to students in F-1 status through the OIE focus on immigration advising and include I-20 Endorsement, I-20 Replacement, Change of Nonimmigrant Status, Loss of F-1 Student Status/Reinstatement, Immigration and Naturalization Service Forms, Program Extension, Transfer of Schools, Change of Educational Program or Degree, Employment-related services, Optional Practical Training, Curricular Practical Training, On-campus Student Assistant, I-9 issuance, Tax Related Concerns, Social Security Number.

Services and resources available to students in J-1 status through the OIE focus on immigration advising and include Health Insurance Requirement, Students Status/Reinstatement, Two-Year Home-Country Physical-Presence-Requirement (212e), IAP-66 Issuance and Information, Employment-related services, On-campus Student Assistant, I-9 issuance, Tax Related Concerns, Social Security Number.
