The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the Menasha Joint School District invite educators to explore bilingual literacy development in Costa Rica this summer.

STUDY teaching, learning, and assessment related to Spanish literacy.

ANALYZE effective elementary and secondary curricula focused on the development of Spanish/English bilingual literacy for children.

EXPAND your understanding of cultural similarities and differences mainstream and Latino cultures to become familiar with possible areas of conflict for immigrant students arriving in U.S. schools from Spanish-speaking cultures.

EXAMINE effective PK-12 curriculum and program planning to accommodate the transition of Latino/a immigrant children U.S. educational system and to facilitate cultural understanding in the classroom and community.

UW Oshkosh and MJSD will collaborate with Central America Study Abroad (CASA) to coordinate this program.
