Obsidian Enlightenment is holding an end-of-semester Decadence Party. Plans are in complete chaos right now, but you can be assured that the party will be complete chaos as well. We may have all, some, or none of the following things:
- Belly Dancers
- Beverages
- Kiddie Pool of Asmodok the Destroyer
- Jello Libations to Asmodok
- Prizes
- A Movie
- Music
- Miscellaneous Surprises
Once again, that's Thursday, May 8th at 8:00PM.
We will be showing "The Devil's Rain" in the Reeve Theater on Friday, May 2nd at 8:00PM. Stop on by and watch John Travolta's face melt off! See Ernest Borgnine as the hideously evil Satanic priest! I think it'd be wise to bring a spare pair of underpants for this one, people.
We have decided to change a few of the discussion topics for this semester. For those of you who are interesting enough to be interested, check out the changes by clicking on the "Discussion" link on the navigation menu (or click here).
So, I got an e-mail from a someone in New Zealand the other day, and I thought it was kind of funny. Here it is:

The discussion topics for the Spring 2003 semester have been updated with dates, times, and places. Additional details for each discussion will follow in the near future. The above-mentioned topics have also been moved to the top of the page so that you don't have to scroll through last semester's topics.
OE Discussion Execs - For those topics that yet require detailed information, please send text for them to the Office of Lucifer. Thank you.

This is just a reminder that all of the discussion topics for the Spring 2003 semester are now posted in the "Discussion" area of the site. So, if you want to get a head start and begin perusing the topics and their related materials, go check it out. They currently have no dates attached to them, but they're in order.

The BBS is up and running once again.
--rdk
As some of you have noticed, the BBS is currently unavailable. This is because the site that hosts it is down for maintenance. It should be back up in a day or so, or the end of the week at the latest. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Satan Week (during the last week of October) is Obsidian Enlightenment's flagship event, heralding the message of Satanism in key programs throughout the week. Learn what Satanism is and what it is not, directly from the goat's mouth, so-to-speak.
For more information, check out the new "Satan Week" menu item on the left side of this window!

The discussion topics for the semester have been posted. They're a bit rough right now, but the ones that will be happening soon are fleshed out. To see them and prepare for the next discussion, go to the new menu item called "Discussion." Internet links relating to the discussion topics have and will continue to be posted for each topic.

The following books have been donated to Polk Library by Obsidian Enlightenment:
- "The Satanic Bible"
- "The Satanic Witch"
- "Satan Speaks!"
- "The Devil's Notebook"
Keep a look out for them. They're being processed right now and should be available sometime this semester.

Don't let his kind, fatherly demeanor fool you! Greg Underheim has a devil's teat on his left elbow! I saw it when he came by the Obsidian Enlightenment booth during "Taste of Oshkosh" and pledged his undying allegiance to the dark father of the underworld! I don't know about any of you out there, but he's sure got my vote. There's a reason his last name is a compound word meaning "nether home" in German!
Obsidian Enlightenment supports UNDERHEIM for state representative! Let him represent us on Earth like the dark father does in Hell! HAIL UNDERHEIM! HAIL THE RESURGENCE OF THE PIT!

I've added links to the "Links" section of the site. If anyone has any other links they think would be appropriate, let me know.

The BBS is now up. Check it out and create an account, and post a message. I will be sending out an e-mail soon letting everyone know that this will be the main place of communication from now on, replacing e-mail for general OE communication. Please give me some suggestions for categories/boards that you would like to see. Right now I've only got General/Obsidian Enlightenment and General/Fun Stuff. The "Obsidian Enlightenment board will be used for communication amongst OE members, in order to replace e-mails for all but personal or things not meant for public reading.

The site is nearing completion. I've ironed out the design and layout for graphics and text elements, as well as other things. You should all let me know what you think of how the site looks. If you think something looks "off", should be changed, should be removed, or should be added, please let me know.
I've also completely HTML-ized the OE Bylaws, so you can go take a look at that, too. Keep an eye out for typos or anything that needs to be changed. There was a lot of typing involved and I'm sure I screwed something up somewhere.
The next step in this process is to explore my (extremely limited) options for making certain elements of the site dynamic. Academic Computing has told me that the UWO webserver does not allow any server-side scripting capabilities such as CGI, ASP, and the like. Because of this, I've had to do a lot of mundane copy/paste work for every page on the site, and if anything needs to be changed with the overall layout of the site, I will need to change every HTML file! YAY! THANKS UWO! I'm glad I didn't take the "Web Design" class so that I couldn't use all the neat stuff I'd have learned. Anyways, after exploring my options for client-side scripting and dynamic page output, I will work on finding a way to facilitate the BBS feature so that we have a single, uniform, simple-to-follow method for keeping in communication over the internet instead of e-mail, which has gotten sort of cumbersome.
Seriously though, let me know what you think of the site.
