N.T.S.O. Constitution

  • Mission : Statement

    • The primary purpose of NTSO is to enhance the educational experience for nontraditional students

  • Article I: Name

    • Hence forth this student organization shall be known as the “Non-Traditional Student Organization” and or “N.T.S.O.”

  • Article II: Purpose

    • Academic support for nontraditional students

    • Social support for nontraditional students

    • Liaison for nontraditional students to the university and community

    • Advocate for nontraditional students

  • Article III: Membership

    • Membership is available to all currently enrolled students.

    • The N.T.S.O. (Non-Traditional Student Organization) will not discriminate in membership on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

  • Article IV: Officers

    • To serve as an officer of NTSO you must be a currently enrolled student in good academic standing.

    • Each position requires the elected student to serve for one complete academic school year

    • Officers will be selected by an NTSO member vote, according to OSA guidelines, during first regular meeting following the spring semester break. Newly elected officers will begin their official duties at the final meeting of that same semester.

    • An officer can be removed by a unanimous vote of the remaining officers and the approval of the NTSO advisor

      • President:

        • The President will preside over meetings, write an agenda prior to meetings, and serve on one or more committees

      • Vice President:

        • The Vice President will assist the President, plan outings/activities, and serve on one or more committees

      • Secretary:

        • The Secretary will assist the Vice President, coordinate involvement with other, student and non-student, organizations and serve on one or more committees

      • Treasurer:

        • The Treasurer will assist the Secretary, manage all finances for NTSO, and serve on one or more committees.

      • NTSO Liaison:

        • The NTSO Liaison will work directly with academic and administrative offices on campus to maintain and build relationships for the sole purpose of completing the NTSO mission and serve on one or more committees

    • The duties of a vacant position will be assigned to and completed by the remaining Officers

  • Article V: Amendments

    • The constitution can be amended by a majority vote at any regularly scheduled meeting of the organization.

    • Any and all members of the organization are able to propose amendments to the constitution.

    • All proposals are to be submitted to an officer of the organization or the NTSO advisor.
