Joye Moon ’84, has been a nationally recognized watercolor artist, instructor and exhibit judge for more than 20 years. This month, she adds another entry in her resume: author.

Moon’s first book, Exploring Textures in Watercolor, was released in early November by North Light Books.

“It took a tremendous amount of work, not only from the writing aspect — trying to explain all the processes correctly,” she said, “but also creating each chapter’s painting in a step-by-step procedure, then photographing each phase of the process.”

Moon has received more than 50 international, national and regional awards for her work. Her paintings are in public, private and corporate collections.
