Seen on campus: Earth Charter Summit

Foreign correspondent, human rights activist and author Stephanie Elizondo Griest presents “Out of the Barrio” Oct. 15 at the 2008 Earth Charter Community Summit at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Griest’s presentation, which detailed how she combated racial, gender and cultural stereotypes during her travels, was held in Reeve Memorial Union.

Discussion

  1. The Earth Charter in my opinion was a great success and more people in the University & Community need to be aware of this national achievement. The speakers had great knowledge and they revealed the travesties of our national and international global scene at the same time giving way to possible solutions. We have only one Earth and it seems like too many people are ungrateful for what mother nature offers us, but in return how we do give nothing back.
