Requirements
Applicants to the Fire and Emergency Response Management (FERM) program must have successfully completed an associate degree in an appropriate fire science area. Such areas may include: fire protection, fire science, paramedic technician or emergency management.
To earn a degree in Fire and Emergency Response Management, you will need to complete courses in three areas:

| Fire and Emergency Response Management degree | 120 credits |
General education required coursework, including courses in:
- Written and verbal communication
- Mathematics
- Physical Education
- Humanities
- Natural Science
- Social Science
- Ethnic Studies
- Non-Western Culture
Transferring of Credits
If you already have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Protection, Fire Science, Paramedic Technician or Emergency Management, many of your previous courses may satisfy the FERM program requirements. Transfer of general education course work from similar Associate of Applied Science degree programs is also considered. A 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) is required for admission by University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for all transfer students.
