Concerto/aria competition

The concerto/aria competition is held in February and is open to music majors enrolled in applied music, large ensemble and convocation, both semesters during the academic year. The winner(s) will perform in the final orchestra concert of the year.

Requirements:

• Students must provide the application form (pdf) with the approval of their applied teacher.
• Solos must be memorized with the exception of students who audition as an ensemble.
• Students must provide an accompanist.
• Repertoire: should not exceed 15 minutes and students must obtain repertoire approval from Dr. Matos.

Observation: Previous year winners are not eligible to apply.

2006 Concerto/Aria Competition date: February 07, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. Winner(s) will perform with the UWO Symphony on May 04, 2006, 8:00 p.m. Application deadline: January 31, 2006
