Piano Duet Day
The Piano Duet Day “Fun for 2” creates a collaborative opportunity for teachers and students (high school and college) coming from the Northeast Wisconsin Piano Teachers Forum in Green Bay, Oshkosh Music Teachers Association and UW Oshkosh piano students. Piano students from each group prepared repertoire for 4 hands piano or 2 pianos to be rehearsed and performed with a different partner than their usual. Duo partners meet on the day of the event and rehearse assisted/coached by a UW Oshkosh piano student, perform in a Master Class taught by Dr. Eli Kalman, have an informal lunch at Reeve Union, rehearse again and finally perform in a public concert at 3:00 on our Music Hall stage at UW Oshkosh. Somewhere in the middle of this event a brief presentation of works by Kurtag and Ligeti will be offered through performance in order to enhance the overall experience.
