Carol Rosing, Bassoon
Carol Rosing is a native of Portage, WI. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying with Richard Lottridge, and a Master of Music Degree and Professional Studies Degree in Bassoon Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with David Carroll and Frank Morelli, respectively.
Carol is currently the principal bassoonist in the Rock River Philharmonic and in the Oshkosh Symphony, contrabassoonist in the Madison Symphony, and second bassoonist in the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra. In addition, she has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony, the Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra, the Green Bay Symphony, the Fox Valley Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, the Wisconsin Philharmonic, the Racine Symphony, and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. Internationally, she has performed with groups throughout England, Austria, and Italy. Carol also has vast chamber music experience, having performed with numerous woodwind quintets, trios, and chamber ensembles over the years.
Carol is currently the Lecturer of Bassoon at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, as well as the Lecturer of Bassoon at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and the Bassoon Instructor at Beloit College. She also maintains a private teaching studio.
