Ph.D., M.M., B.M.; Music Education; received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education from Ohio University, and taught K-12 instrumental and general music for five years in Ohio public schools. There, she directed instrumental ensembles at beginning, middle and high school levels including concert band, marching band, jazz band and chamber ensembles. Her students and ensembles consistently earned superior ratings. As a university graduate assistant, she also directed concert and marching bands in addition to classroom teaching.

Dr. Lethco received her Ph.D. in Music Education from Louisiana State University, with a minor in wind conducting. She was a student of James Byo and Frank Wickes. Dr. Lethco has served as an adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor in WI and other states. She has played trumpet throughout her career in a variety of ensembles including, Heidelberg Brass Band, Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Community Bands and Wisconsin Symphonic Winds. Privately, she has taught trumpet and many wind instruments.

Dr. Lethco serves as the Chair of the Publications Committee of the Wisconsin School Music Association. At UW Oshkosh she serves on the Faculty Development Board. For nine years she served as the Membership Chair of the National Band Association-Wisconsin Chapter. She has presented research at state and national conventions, has published in Contributions to Music Education and Wisconsin School Musician, and has presented interest sessions at the Wisconsin Music Education Association State Music Conference. Dr. Lethco has an additional interest in early childhood music and has presented classes and sessions at several local conferences.

This is Dr. Lethco’s fourteenth year at UW Oshkosh teaching as a lecturer in music, having previously taught in the Music Education Department at Baylor University. She has taught courses in general and instrumental music education, conducting, music theory, music appreciation, and has directed the University Bands and the University Handbell Choir.
