Facilities
Our music facilities are among the finest in the nation, with spacious rehearsal rooms, numerous practice facilities, a state-of-the-art recording studio and a highly acclaimed performance hall. As jobs in the field of music continue to evolve in this age of new technology, our facilities continue to meet the needs of our students pursuing careers in music. Recently we have added an Electronic Music Studio as well as a Music Computer Lab complete with top of the line music software, digital recording equipment, and electronic keyboards.
UW Oshkosh Music Hall
This 500 seat recital hall is home to most Music Department performances - ensemble concerts, chamber performances and student recitals. Its warm acoustics provides an outstanding environment for instrumental and vocal music alike.
Recording Studio
We offer a complete 32-track digital and 16-track analog recording facility, including console automation, a complete ProTools hard disk recording system, extensive signal processing SMPTE time code and lock, a fully independent MIDI synch-able studio with sampling, sequencing, and printing, a digital editing room and complete lock to video. The studio serves as a hands-on learning center with training in all aspects of the recording process. Click here to see more.
Electronic Music Studio
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Electronic Music Studio was established in 2007 by Dr. Ed Martin. It is a state-of-the-art facility designed for electronic music composition and research. The lab, used by students enrolled in Music Composition (MUS 347, MUS 348, MUS 447, MUS 448), Electronic Music (MUS 410), and Independent Study courses, offers the opportunity to explore the medium through a combination of composition, listening, and discussion.
