Early Music Ensemble
The Early Music Ensemble provides an opportunity for singers and instrumentalists to perform chamber music of the Renaissance or Baroque periods and to learn about historically-informed performance practices. The UWO Department of Music has a number of fine reproductions of historical instruments available for student use, including Renaissance and Baroque Recorders, Crumhorns, Cornetti, Baroque Flute, Harpsichord, Treble Viol and Viola da Gamba. Participating students may also choose to perform on their current modern instrument.
This ensemble is open to all students, of any major, with consent of the instructor. Meeting times are determined based on the member’s schedules.
