Where Are They Now?

Vanessa Ante (PhD)
Vanessa graduated from UW Oshkosh in May 2010 in Biology. She completed her PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics in December 2015 at the University of Pittsburgh. Vanessa became the first Scholar from UW Oshkosh, that we are aware of, to earn a PhD. She is now a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Texas A & M University.

Damion Burgin (MPA)
Damion graduated in May 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to earn a Masters in Public Administration from UW Oshkosh in May 2014. Our office is awaiting any further information on his endeavors.

Amanda Schuh (PhD)
Amanda graduated from UW Oshkosh in December 2009 with a Bachelors in Nursing. She then went on to complete her Masters in Nursing from the University of Michigan, which she earned in May 2012. Amanda then continued to in Nursing and earned her PhD from the University of Michigan as well in August 2016. She is currently working as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She plans to continue practice and her involvement in national organizations such as the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She also hopes to get more involved in clinical research and involvement with education in nursing.

PaNhia Lee (MA)
PaNhia graduated from UW Oshkosh in May 2009 with a degree in International Relations. PaNhia earned her Masters in Sociology from UW Milwaukee in May 2011. Our office is awaiting any further information on their endeavors.

Olivia Navarro (MS)
Olivia graduated from UW Oshkosh in December 2008 with a degree in Spanish. Olivia went on to earn a M.S. in Educational Psychology from UW Milwaukee in May 2011. She is currently working as an Academic Advisor with UW Milwaukee. 

Ryan Schuh (MS)
Ryan graduated in May 2009 with a degree in Physiology. He completed his Masters in Exercise Physiology from Northern Illinois University in December 2014. Ryan currently works as a scientist for a Veterinarian Pharmaceutical company in the R&D Department.

Aaryn Mustoe (PhD)
Aaryn graduated from UW Oshkosh in May 2009 with a degree in Biology. He completed his M.A. in Psychology: Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Nebraska - Omaha in May 2012. Aaryn continued on to earn his PhD in August 2016. He is currently a post doctoral research associate in Omaha and is also part time teaching at University of Nebraska - Omaha as well as Creighton University. He plans on doing post-doc research for two or three years and then applying to faculty positions in biology, psychology, or neuroscience in the University setting.

Amanda Scripture (MPA)
Amanda graduated from UW Oshkosh in May 2010 with a degree in Social Work. She received her Master of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University in May 2012. She is currently a Development Specialist at Rawhide Boys Ranch and plans on staying in development and non-profit, however, eventually moving on to Manager or Executive Director positions at a non-profit or foundation.

Janene Lang
Janene graduated from UW Oshkosh in January 2010 with a degree in Philosophy. Her research topic was on historical religious traditions' and their influence on environmental attitudes. Janene went on to become a licensed Acupuncturist in private practice after discontinuing her graduate program. She still has a strong interest in earning her PhD.

Leviathan Whitfield (PhD)
Leviathan graduated from UW Oshkosh in December 2009 with a degree in Urban Education. Leviathan is currently at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in their Urban Education doctoral program, with an emphasis in the social foundations of education. His anticipated graduation date is May 2019.

Nathan Harris
Nathan graduated in May 2011 with a Bachelors in Physics. As a McNair Scholar, his research mentor was Dr. Steven Winters, Department of Mathematics. His research topic was "Solving Eternity II: Edge Matching Puzzles." After graduation, Nathan pursued his career interests. Our office is awaiting any further information on his endeavors.

Krystal Judah (JD)
Krystal graduated from UW Oshkosh in December 2008 with a degree in Communication. As a McNair Scholar, her research mentor was Dr. Marguerite Parks. She recently completed a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in May 2016. Krystal is now enrolled as a JD Candidate in law school at Northern Illinois University as of August 2016. Her expected graduation date is May 2019. For work, she is the sole proprietor of her own private clinic where she is a Mental Health Counselor.

Vai Lor (PhD)
Vai graduated from UW Oshkosh in May 2009 with Bachelors in Microbiology. Vai earned a PhD in July 2016 from the University of Minnesota in Plant Biological Sciences. He is currently a post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the Agronomy Department. He has a goal of becoming a professor at a university.
