Four days of Empowerment and inspirations for young women in grades 9-12.
Ever wonder what it's like to pilot a jet aircraft, work on the international space station, pilot a private aircraft for a corporate executive, or for yourself? EAA's Women Soar You Soar is the ideal place for high school girls to find out. Now in its eighth year, this unique program introduces 100 girls to more than 20 women mentors, from engineers to fighter pilots, working in a variety of aviation and aerospace fields. It's a four-day event, Aug. 1–4, 2013, filled with career exploration, discovery, inspiration and fun - including a Saturday night air show with fireworks to follow. Activities for this year include: Young Eagles flights, workshops, career exploration and mentor sessions. The journey of a million miles begins with the first step. Mission
The Women Soar You Soar program strives to engage, inspire, and educate young women to pursue their dreams in aviation and beyond.

Schedule of Activities

Location
The program is held at EAA grounds and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Check-in is Thursday morning, followed by an orientation meeting, dinner and recreational activities. University Food Service provides all meals. EAA will provide all bus transportation from EAA to UW Oshkosh and back during the program.
Lodging and Meals
Participants stay in a supervised, double-occupancy residence hall on the UW Oshkosh campus. (Plan to bring your own towels and toiletries.) We will make every effort to comply with any roommate choice request. Qualified program staff and chaperones will provide supervision for all participants.
All meals will be provided by UW Oshkosh's Blackhawk Dining Center. Meals include Thursday lunch and dinner, Friday and Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast.
Fees
The cost for this program is $75 per girl. There are scholarships available. For scholarships, please submit a short essay stating that you would like to be considered and why you wish to receive financial aid to conted@uwosh.edu (please note, this is a separate essay from the application essay below). Application
Your online application provides the UW Oshkosh Divison of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement with your initial application information. Please note, an essay is required to complete the application process. Please submit a one-page, typed essay on “Why I want to attend Women Soar You Soar” and/or “What experiences I hope to gain by attending Women Soar You Soar.” Your essay should be sent to conted@uwosh.edu. After your application is approved, we will need to gather additional information to complete your registration. This additional information will be sent along with your acknowledgment letter. We ask that you please return it to the Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement as soon as possible.

The application deadline for Women Soar You Soar is July 1, 2013. Enrollment is limited, so early application is advised.
Cancellations received 10 business days before the program will receive a full refund, minus a $10 processing charge. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after July 15, 2013. UW Oshkosh reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment, as well as the right to limit enrollment due to excessive demand.
