July 6–Aug. 21, 2015 • Online Math Placement Exam Prep Course

Improve your math placement scores, and skip the entry-level Math courses.

Math Prep is designed to give incoming UW Oshkosh freshmen the opportunity to move ahead in their required mathematics coursework. Complete your required mathematics sequence faster by improving your placement scores!

This is a 6 week, 10 module online course with tutors to prepare you for college level mathematic work.

Who should participate?

This program is designed for incoming freshmen who placed into math 100 or 103, which are required for advancement in the math sequence, but do not bear any credit toward an undergraduate degree.

All students at UW Oshkosh are required to take a math sequence as part of their degree requirements. A baseline for their math knowledge is assessed through the math placement exam.

Students who do well enough on the placement exam are permitted to skip these courses and are placed into a higher math course that does quality for credit.

Guaranteed Class Registration

Students who are enrolled in Math Prep will have guaranteed placement in the freshman math section. If students do not improve their placement scores, they will remain in the course they placed into.

If students do improve their scores and are placed into a higher course, they will meet with an academic advisor and be changed to the appropriate course for the fall semester.

Program Registration

Fee: The cost for this program is $299, and it includes instruction and the placement exam fees.

Enrollment: The program is limited to 40 students. If more than 40 students register, we will select students based on their previous placement scores. Students will be notified by July 1, 2015, if they are confirmed for enrollment in the program.
