We invite you to the 14th Annual Language, Culture and Education Institute! Our theme is Collaboration, Cultural Sensitivity & Community.
We are honored to have as our keynote speaker this year Andrea Honigsfeld, Ed.D., a professor in the Division of Education at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. A Fulbright Scholar and author/editor of 15 books, Dr. Honigsfeld offers staff development primarily focusing on effective differentiated strategies and collaborative practices for ESL and general education teachers.
Following the keynote address, breakout sessions during the day will feature the work of Dr. Honigsfeld and many other professionals who will share their on topics ranging from:
- Co-teaching planning, collaboration and assessment
- Dual language instruction
- Understanding the perspectives of immigrant children
- The uses of poetry and storytelling
- Technology in the dual language classroom
- Other best practices
Hear first-hand success stories and other case studies of what school districts are doing to react to and prepare for larger populations of ELL students. Take away practices and plans that you can immediately implement in your classroom, school or home.
