Current Issues in Human Services: Conflict Resolution 3 cr. (Required) 

This course will focus on conflict, its energy and utility, its resolution, and its role in Human Services agencies particularly as it relates to program planning and program management skills. Students will assess their own conflict style and develop additional skills to supplement their conflict style. Students will further develop basic interpersonal skills used in conflict resolution: listening, questioning, making statements and written communication. By the end of the course students will develop knowledge and skills in the following areas of conflict resolution: conflict theory, negotiation, mediation, group facilitation, advocacy and other third-party interventions
