- Emergency planning and administration
- Budgeting and management in the public sector
FERM Elective Courses
Students are also required to select one course from a list of possible electives. Elective topics are focused on specific leadership and management needs of the fire and emergency response industry.
Transferring of Credits
If you already have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Medic, Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Technician, Fire Science Technician, Paramedic Technician, Emergency Management or Wildland Firefighting, many of your previous courses may satisfy the FERM program requirements. Transfer of general education course work from similar Associate of Applied Science degree programs is also considered. A 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) is required for admission by University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for all transfer students.
