Book & Article Delivery

Need a book or an article that isn't available online? We can help with that!

You can request any physical book or media owned by Polk Library or in the UW System via interlibrary loan, and we'll mail it to your home! There are no charges for this service, although you will be responsible for return postage. If you choose to visit Polk Library, you may check out materials with your university ID (Titan Card) or any photo ID.

Requesting a book found in Search@UW

1. Begin by using the Search@UW search box on the library homepage. Type in your search and then press the blue search button.

2. Limit your results by selecting the "Books" link under "Refine My Results" on the left side of the results screen.

3. Identify the book that you'd like and click the "Details" tab to get the item information (this will help you request the item).

4. Open a new tab and return to the library homepage. Select the "Accounts" tab, then sign into your interlibrary loan account. Select "Request a Book" to place your request.

5. Be sure to type "Online Learner" in the notes field and supply your home address so that your request can be mailed directly to you. You will be responsible for return postage.

Requesting an article that is not available in a database

1. If you find an article in the catalog that is only in our physical/bound collection (as in the example below), you can email Erin or Joe directly or at onlinelibrary@uwosh.edu. We will scan the article and email it to you.

2. To request an article that you are unable to access in full text and which isn't in our bound collection, simply skip to step #4 above. Articles will be sent to you electronically via email.
