Produced by the Modern Language Association, the MLA International Bibliography provides access to scholarly research in over 3,000 journals and series, including records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore.

  • MLA Search Tip I
    When searching for materials on a particular work or author, set the Select a Field box to the left of the search box to either Primary Subject Work or Primary Subject Author. This will make sure the main focus of the article is the work or author your are researching.
  • MLA Search Tip II
    When locating book essays the Find IT button can have issues locating the book the essay appear in. To make sure of the item's availability, try the steps below.
    1. Click on the title of the article and locate the ISBN number of the book the article appeared in.
    2. Open another tab to the library page and copy and paste the number into the Search@UW box.
    3. If the book is available Online or in Print from Polk Library you should see a record.
