Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) APA Formatting and Style Guide
The Purdue OWL site is a comprehensive APA reference tool. The site has examples for in-text citations and references for a wide variety of source types, as well as an APA sample paper.
The official APA Style Blog is a good general APA resource, but also provides useful answers to questions about unusual source types or exceptions to rules. For example, how to cite something you found on a website, how to cite an online article without page numbers, and how to cite unusual author names.
APA Style references require the use of a DOI, or digital object identifier, for online scholarly articles if one is assigned. Crossref.org will enable you to look up an article by its title to find the DOI, if it has one. Click the "Search Metadata" tab on the Crossref homepage to search for your article title.
