Search Tips

1. What words would likely appear on a "perfect" website/article/book description? Combine those words with "and".
2. Brainstorm synonyms, broader terms, narrower terms.
3. Put phrases in quotation marks.
4. In the library resources, use a truncation symbol (usually ? or *) to find variations of words.

Finding Background Info - Encyclopedias

• Check the print encyclopedias in the reference area, 1st Floor South
• Oxford Reference Online - searches multiple encyclopedias at once
• CQ Researcher - reports on current, controversial topics
